Viewing Team Actions

Introduction

The Actions tab shows all outstanding tasks for patients in your team. You can see who's responsible for each action, when it's due, and quickly complete, reassign, or update progress -- all from one central view.

Before You Start

Required permissions: You must be a team member (clinical user, team owner) or organisation administrator to view team actions.

If you're not a member of the team, you'll see an access denied message: "You do not have permission to view the actions of this team."

Steps
Navigating to Team Actions
  1. From the sidebar, click Teams to expand the accordion
  2. Click the name of the team you want to view
  3. Click the Actions tab

The tab shows a red badge if there are any overdue actions for the team.

Understanding the Actions Table

The table displays up to 50 actions per page with the following columns:

  • Status -- Colour-coded badge showing the action state:
    • Grey "Closed" -- action completed
    • Red "Overdue" -- past the due date
    • Yellow "Soon" -- due within 24 hours
    • Blue "Open" -- standard open action
  • Patient image -- Gender icon and patient photo (if available)
  • Patient -- Name, age, gender, date of birth, Medical Record #, and Nat. ID
  • Title -- The action description
  • Location -- Patient's current location (ward, bed, room)
  • Assigned to -- Team member responsible for the action
  • Due -- Due date, time (or "End of Day"), and relative time (e.g., "2 days" or "overdue")
Sorting the Table

Click any column header to sort the table:

  • Patient (sorts by last name)
  • Title (sorts by action name)
  • Location
  • Assigned to (sorts by assignee's last name)
  • Due (sorts by due date)

Your sort preference is saved automatically and restored when you return to the page.

Viewing Action Details

Click anywhere on a row to navigate to the full action detail page (/actions/actionId), where you can see complete information, notes, and attachments.

Completing an Action (Quick Close)

For simple actions that don't require detailed notes:

  1. Click the checkmark icon on the right side of the row
  2. The button changes to show "Click to Complete" as confirmation
  3. Click again to submit the quick close

The action is marked as completed immediately.

Managing an Action (Kebab Menu)

For more detailed action management:

  1. Click the three-dot menu (⋮) on the right side of the row
  2. Select one of three options:
    • Complete Action -- Opens a dialog where you can add completion notes and attachments
    • Reassign Action -- Opens a dialog to reassign the action to a different team member
    • Update Progress -- Opens a dialog to add progress notes without closing the action
Pagination

The table shows 50 actions per page. Use the pagination controls at the bottom to navigate between pages. Your current page is saved in your browser session.

When There Are No Actions

If the team has no actions, you'll see the message: "This team does not have any actions associated with it."

Tips
  • The overdue badge on the Actions tab (visible from any team screen) shows how many actions are past their due date -- a quick way to prioritise which teams need attention
  • Sort by Due to see the most urgent actions first
  • Use Quick Close for routine completions to save time; use the kebab menu's Complete Action option when you need to add detailed notes or attachments
  • Your sort and pagination preferences are saved per team -- if you always sort Emergency Department actions by due date, that preference persists across sessions
  • The table shows full patient demographics, so you can identify patients at a glance without needing to open separate records
