How to Find My Sent Handovers

Introduction

The Sent Handovers view lets you monitor all handover requests you've sent to colleagues. You can check their status and cancel them if needed before they're accepted.

Before You Start

No special permissions required. All organisational users can view their own sent handovers.

Steps
  1. From the sidebar, click Handovers

  2. The Handover requests page opens showing two tabs: Received and Sent

  3. Click the Sent tab

  4. You'll see a table displaying all your pending sent handovers with the following information:

    • Profile picture of the recipient
    • Patient column showing the patient name(s) being handed over
    • To user column showing who you sent the handover to
    • Cancel button to cancel the handover if needed
  5. If a handover includes multiple patients, the patient column shows the first patient's name followed by "and X more". Click anywhere on the row to expand and see all patients included in that handover

  6. To cancel a sent handover, click the Cancel button (red button with a cross icon) in that row

  7. Click the Cancel button again within 3 seconds to confirm the cancellation

  8. When successfully cancelled, you'll see the message "Handover cancelled" and the handover will be removed from your list

The badge on the Sent tab shows the total number of pending sent handovers awaiting a response.

Tips
  • The Cancel button requires a second click within 3 seconds to confirm. This prevents accidental cancellation
  • If you don't click again within 3 seconds, the button resets and you'll need to click it twice again
  • The sidebar shows a badge count for received handovers, not sent ones. To see your sent handover count, you need to navigate to the Handovers page
  • Once a handover is accepted or rejected by the recipient, it will no longer appear in your Sent list
  • If you need to hand over the same patient again after cancelling, you'll need to create a new handover request from the patient's profile
