Introduction
If a user's access to CAREFUL has been disabled, organisation administrators can restore their access using the re-enable feature. This immediately grants the user access to the system again and notifies them that their account has been restored.
Before You Start
- You must be an Organisation Administrator to re-enable users
- You cannot re-enable your own account if it has been disabled
- The user must already exist in your organisation (this feature restores access to existing disabled users)
Steps
- From the sidebar, click My Organization
- Click the Members tab
- Enable the Show Disabled Users checkbox at the top of the members list
- Disabled users now appear in the table with the status Account Disabled displayed beneath their name and role
- Locate the user you wish to re-enable in the members list
- Click the action menu (three dots) on the right side of that user's row
- Click Enable user
The user is immediately re-enabled. The action executes without a confirmation dialog.
What Happens Next
When you re-enable a user:
- The user's account status changes from disabled to active
- The Account Disabled label disappears from their member profile
- The user receives a push notification: "Your access to CAREFUL has been enabled"
- If your organisation uses team chat, the user is automatically re-activated in the chat system and added back to their team chat rooms
- An audit log entry is created recording the re-enablement
The user can now log in and access CAREFUL normally. If you un-tick the Show Disabled Users checkbox, re-enabled users will disappear from the disabled users view and appear in the standard members list.
Tips
- Unlike disabling a user (which shows a confirmation dialog), re-enabling happens immediately when you click Enable user -- there is no confirmation prompt
- If you need to see all members (both active and disabled) at once, keep the Show Disabled Users checkbox enabled
- Check the Log tab in My Organization to review the audit trail of when users were disabled and re-enabled
- Re-enabling a user does not automatically notify their team members -- you may want to inform the team separately that the colleague is back
