Introduction
Unverified user indicators help administrators quickly identify organisation members who have not yet verified their email address or mobile number. These visual cues appear in the Members tab, making it easy to spot users who may need their invitations resent or managed.
Before You Start
- You can view unverified user indicators if you are any organisational user (Administrator, Team Owner, or Clinical User)
- Only Administrators can take action on unverified users (resend or cancel invitations)
Understanding Verification Status
A user is marked as unverified if they have verified neither their email address nor their mobile number. Once a user verifies either contact method, they are considered verified and the indicator disappears.
Viewing Unverified Users
- From the sidebar, click My Organization
- Click the Members tab
- Look for users with dimmed rows and the ***unverified label
Visual indicators:
- The entire user row appears faded (at 50% opacity)
- A superscript label ***unverified appears next to the user's role in the Role column
- Example: "Member ***unverified"
These visual cues make it immediately obvious which users have not completed the verification process.
Managing Unverified Users (Administrators Only)
If you are an Administrator, you can resend or cancel invitations for unverified users.
Resending an Invitation
- Navigate to My Organization → Members tab
- Locate the unverified user (look for the dimmed row with ***unverified label)
- Click the kebab menu (⋮) at the right end of the user's row
- Click Resend invitation
- The system immediately sends a new invitation email or SMS to the user
- The members table refreshes automatically
No confirmation dialogue appears – the action executes immediately.
Cancelling an Invitation
- Navigate to My Organization → Members tab
- Locate the unverified user
- Click the kebab menu (⋮) at the right end of the user's row
- Click Cancel invitation
- The invitation is immediately cancelled
- The members table refreshes automatically
Again, no confirmation dialogue appears – the cancellation happens straight away.
Verification in Other Areas
You may also see verification status indicators in other parts of CAREFUL:
User Profile pages:
- Mobile/phone numbers show "- Unverified" if not verified
- Email addresses show "- Unverified" if not verified
Team Members tabs:
- Similar visual indicators (dimmed rows and **unverified labels)
- Only checks mobile verification status, not email
Organisation-level status:
- If your entire organisation is unverified (typically during a free trial), you'll see an orange border around the application and a "FREE TRIAL" badge in the bottom-right corner
Tips
- New users often miss verification emails – if someone hasn't verified after a day or two, try resending the invitation
- Check spam folders – remind new users to check their junk mail if they haven't received the verification link
- Mobile verification is faster – many users find SMS verification quicker and more reliable than email
- Verification is a security measure – it ensures that users have access to the contact details they've provided and can receive important notifications
