Introduction
CAREFUL provides interactive guided tours and help resources to help you get started with the platform. While there isn't a separate administrator-specific tour, you can access the Quick Guide Tour which covers core clinical coordination features, as well as external help documentation for administrative tasks.
Before You Start
No special permissions required. All organisational users, including administrators, can access the Quick Guide Tour and help resources.
Accessing the Quick Guide Tour
The Quick Guide Tour is an interactive walkthrough that introduces you to CAREFUL's key features. It will automatically appear when you first log in, but you can also access it manually at any time.
To Manually Access the Tour
- Click on your name or avatar in the top-right corner of any page
- You'll be taken to your User Profile page
- Click the kebab menu (⋮) button in the top-right corner
- From the dropdown menu, select Show Quick Guide Tour
- The interactive tour will launch, starting with the welcome screen
Navigating Through the Tour
- Click Next to advance to the next step (the tour will highlight relevant UI elements)
- Click Back to return to the previous step
- Click Remind me later on the first screen to snooze the tour for 24 hours
- Click the X icon (cancel) at any time to close the tour
- Click Close on the final step to mark the tour as completed

Embedded Video Tutorials
The Quick Guide Tour includes embedded video tutorials demonstrating key features:
- Managing your patients
- Team handover lists
- Creating and completing actions
- Patient handovers
- Team chat messaging
These videos play within the tour steps, giving you detailed visual guidance.
Accessing External Help Documentation
For comprehensive documentation on administrative tasks (such as creating teams, inviting users, managing organisational settings), use the external Help link.
- From any page in CAREFUL, locate the left sidebar
- Click the Help link (marked with a question mark icon)
- A new browser tab will open with the CAREFUL Support Centre at
https://careful.online/docs/support/ - Browse the support documentation for detailed guides on administrative functions
Accessing the Chat Tour
If your organisation has team chat enabled, you can also access a dedicated Chat Tour:
- Click Teams in the sidebar
- Select a team that has chat enabled
- Click the Chat tab
- Click the kebab menu (⋮) in the top-right corner
- Select Show Chat Tour
The Chat Tour demonstrates:
- Mentioning team members with @ notation
- Referencing patients with ! notation
- Creating actions from chat messages
- Notifying the entire team with @Room
- Links to download the CAREFUL mobile app
Administrator-Specific Guidance
The Quick Guide Tour covers general clinical coordination features used by all users. For administrator-specific tasks, you'll need to refer to the external Support Centre documentation, which includes guides on:
- Creating and managing teams
- Inviting and managing users
- Promoting users to administrator role
- Customising organisational patient fields
- Enabling or disabling users
- Managing organisational settings
Tips
- Tour behaviour: The tour automatically appears on first login. If you snooze it, it will reappear after 24 hours
- Repeat access: You can replay the tour at any time from your User Profile kebab menu
- Browser storage: Tour completion status is stored in your browser. If you clear your browser data, the tour will appear again
- Mobile app: The Chat Tour includes links to download the CAREFUL mobile app for iOS and Android
- Support contact: The final step of each tour includes a link to email support@careful.online
