CAREFUL

How to View Your Outstanding Actions

Introduction

The My Actions view displays all tasks assigned to you, helping you prioritize your workload and ensure timely patient care. Actions are color-coded by urgency, showing which tasks are overdue, due soon, or upcoming.

Before You Start

No special permissions required. All CAREFUL users can view their assigned actions.

Steps

  1. From the left-hand sidebar, click My Actions

The My Actions page appears, displaying a table of all your open actions sorted by due date (most recent first).

  2. Review your actions list, which shows:

    • Status badge - Color-coded urgency indicator (red for overdue, yellow for soon, blue for open)
    • Patient name - The patient this action relates to
    • Title - Description of the action
    • Location - Current patient location
    • Due - Due date and time with relative timing (e.g., "2 hours from now")
  3. To view full action details, click anywhere on an action row

The Action Detail view opens, showing the complete action information including description, assignee details, progress updates, and any attachments.

  4. To sort your actions, click any column header (Patient, Title, Location, or Due)

The table re-sorts accordingly. Your sorting preference is remembered for your next visit.

  5. To complete an action quickly, click the checkmark icon on the right side of the action row

The button changes to Click to Complete. Click again within 2 seconds to confirm completion. The action is closed immediately without additional details.

  6. To manage an action with more options, click the three-dot menu (⋮) on the action row and select:

    • Complete Action - Close the action with a detailed outcome and attachments
    • Reassign Action - Transfer the action to another team member
    • Update Progress - Add progress notes and attachments without closing the action

Tips

  • Color coding helps prioritize: Red "Overdue" actions need immediate attention, yellow "Soon" actions are approaching their due date, blue "Open" actions are not yet urgent.

  • Use quick complete for simple tasks: The checkmark icon lets you close straightforward actions in two clicks without opening a dialog.

  • Track progress before completion: Use "Update Progress" to document your work on longer-running actions, creating an audit trail visible to your team.

  • Your view remembers your preferences: The page automatically saves your sorting choice and pagination settings, so you see your actions the way you prefer each time.

  • By default, only open actions appear: Completed actions are hidden to keep your view focused. Your team administrator can adjust filters to show closed actions if needed.

  • How to Create Actions - Learn to assign new tasks to yourself or colleagues

  • How to Use Team Actions View - See all actions across your entire team
