Introduction
Clinical summaries provide quick access to patient diagnosis and clinical notes directly in your patient list. You can toggle their visibility to customize your view and reduce screen clutter when you don't need this information immediately visible.
Before You Start
No special permissions required. This feature is available to all users in the My Patients and Team views.
Note: Clinical summaries are not available in the My Organisation Patients view to protect patient confidentiality, as all organization users can access this view.
Steps
In My Patients View
- From the sidebar, select My Patients
- In the top navigation area, click the filter icon (funnel/filter symbol) to open the filter panel
- The filter panel slides open, revealing filtering options
- Look for the checkbox labeled "Show clinical summaries"
- Click the checkbox to toggle clinical summaries on or off:
- When checked: Clinical summaries appear below each patient row showing the "Clinical summary" label and the patient's diagnosis or clinical notes
- When unchecked: Clinical summaries are hidden from the patient list
- If a patient has no clinical summary recorded, you'll see "No current clinical summary." displayed
- Click anywhere on a displayed clinical summary to navigate to that patient's full detail page
Your selection persists during your current session.
In Team View
- From the sidebar, select My Teams, then choose a specific team
- Clinical summaries are shown by default in team views
- To hide them, click the filter icon in the top navigation area
- Uncheck the "Show clinical summaries" checkbox in the filter panel
Tips
- Screen space management: Hide clinical summaries when working with long patient lists to see more patients at once
- Quick reference: Keep clinical summaries visible when you need immediate access to diagnosis information without clicking into each patient
- Patient confidentiality: Remember that clinical summaries are intentionally unavailable in My Organisation Patients view for privacy reasons
- Mobile users: The filter panel works the same way on mobile devices - tap the filter icon to access the checkbox
