Introduction
Team Owners and Administrators can promote standard team members to Team Owner status, giving them full management permissions for the team. Team Owners can manage team members, patient assignments, and team settings. Administrators can also demote Team Owners back to standard members if needed.
Before You Start
- You must be a Team Owner or Administrator - Only Team Owners and Administrators can promote members to Team Owner status
- The team member must be verified - The user must have verified their mobile number or email address before they can be promoted
- Note: Only Administrators can demote existing Team Owners back to standard members
Steps
- From the sidebar, select My Teams
- Click on the team where you want to promote a member
- Click the Members tab to view all team members
- Locate the team member you want to promote (you can use the search box to type their first or last name)
- In the Team Role column, you'll see their current role displayed as "Member" for standard members or "Team Owner" for owners
- Click the three-dot menu (⋮) on the right side of the member's row
- From the dropdown menu, click Promote to Team Owner
- A confirmation dialog appears with the title "Confirm Promotion to Team Owner"
- Review the message: "Are you sure you want to Promote [FirstName] [LastName] to Team Owner?"
- Click Yes to confirm the promotion
- The team member list refreshes automatically, and the member's Team Role now displays as "Team Owner"
Tips
- Search for members quickly: Use the search box above the members table to filter by typing the member's first or last name
- Multiple Team Owners: Teams can have multiple Team Owners - there's no limit to how many you can promote
- Unverified users: If you see "**unverified" next to a member's role, they must verify their mobile number or email before you can promote them
- Demoting owners: Only Administrators can demote Team Owners back to standard members using the Demote to Team Member option
- Cannot change your own role: You cannot promote or demote yourself - another Team Owner or Administrator must change your role
