Introduction
The Activity tab on a user's profile displays a detailed audit log of all actions that user has performed in CAREFUL. This helps you track user activity, review care decisions, and maintain compliance with audit requirements.
Before You Start
- You can view any user's Activity tab if you can access their User Profile
- No special permissions are required to view activity logs
- Activity logs show up to 50 events at a time, with the ability to load more
Steps
Accessing a User's Activity Log:
-
Navigate to the user's profile by doing one of the following:
- Click your own name at the top of the screen to view your own activity
- Click on a team member's name in a team member list
- Select a user from the Organization Members list
-
On the User Profile page, you'll see the user's name displayed with tabs below it
-
Click the Activity tab (this will be the second tab when viewing other users, or the third tab when viewing your own profile after Dashboard and Profile)
-
Wait briefly while the activity log loads
Viewing the Activity Log:
-
Review the activity table with three columns:
- Date: Shows when each event occurred
- User: Shows the user's name (will always be the profile owner on this log)
- Event: Shows detailed information about what happened
-
Events are displayed in reverse chronological order (most recent first), showing the last 50 activities
-
If more than 50 events exist, a Load more button appears at the bottom of the table
-
Click Load more to view the next 50 events, which will be appended to the list
-
Continue clicking Load more to view older events until all activity has been loaded
Tips
- Finding patient-specific activity: If you want to see how a user interacted with a specific patient, check the patient's Log tab instead - it will show all activity related to that patient across all users
- Finding team-specific activity: Similarly, team Log tabs show all activity within a team, which may be easier than filtering through a user's complete history
- Understanding events: The Activity log tracks over 70 different event types including patient management, task assignments, handovers, referrals, team changes, and administrative actions
- Empty logs: If you see "There are no audit records for this user", this means either the user is newly created or hasn't performed any tracked actions yet
- Audit compliance: Activity logs are permanent and cannot be edited or deleted, ensuring complete audit trails for healthcare compliance
