How to Cancel a User Invitation

Introduction

If you've invited someone to join your organization or team but need to revoke that invitation before they accept it, you can cancel the invitation. This removes their pending access and they will no longer be able to use the invitation link.

Before You Start

• You must be an Organization Administrator or Team Owner to cancel user invitations
• The user must have an unverified status (they haven't accepted the invitation yet)
• Once a user has accepted their invitation, you cannot cancel it - you would need to remove them as a team member instead

Steps

From Organization Management:

1. From the sidebar, click Admin and select Manage Organization
2. Locate the invited user in the organization members list - they will show as "unverified"
3. Click the actions dropdown (⋮) next to the unverified user's name
4. Select Cancel invitation from the menu
5. The invitation is immediately canceled and the user is removed from the list
6. The user list refreshes automatically to show the updated status

From Team Management:

1. From the sidebar, click My Teams
2. Select the team where you invited the user
3. Click the Members tab
4. Locate the invited user in the members table - they will show as "unverified"
5. Click the actions dropdown (⋮) next to the unverified user's name
6. Select Cancel invitation from the menu
7. The invitation is immediately canceled and the user is removed from the list

Tips

• No confirmation dialog: The cancellation happens immediately when you click "Cancel invitation", so make sure you want to proceed before clicking
• Audit trail: All invitation cancellations are logged in the audit log with the entry "Admin cancelled user invite"
• Resend option: If you see "Resend invitation" in the same menu, this indicates the user hasn't accepted yet and you can also choose to resend rather than cancel
• Re-inviting: After canceling, you can invite the same person again at any time by creating a new invitation
• Error message: If you try to cancel an invitation for a user who has already accepted (verified status), you'll see the message "Can only cancel invites for invited users"
