Introduction
CAREFUL is accessible on desktop computers, tablets, and mobile devices through web browsers, as well as dedicated iOS and Android apps. While the core functionality remains consistent across platforms, there are some interface and feature differences to be aware of.
Before You Start
No special permissions required. All users can access CAREFUL on any supported device using their login credentials.
Accessing CAREFUL
Web Browser (Desktop & Tablet)
- Open your web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge)
- Navigate to your organization's CAREFUL instance URL
- Enter your phone number and password to log in
Desktop vs Tablet: The functionality is identical, but on tablets the sidebar navigation menu is collapsed by default to save screen space. Click the menu icon to expand it.
Mobile Web Browser
- Open your mobile web browser
- Navigate to your organization's CAREFUL instance URL
- Enter your phone number and password to log in
Mobile Differences:
- Navigation uses a bottom toolbar instead of a sidebar
- The Help button appears in the bottom navigation bar
- Context menus (three-dot kebab menus) open as full-screen overlays instead of dropdown menus
- Some administrative features are not available:
- Manage organizational Fields
- Manage organizational Statuses
Mobile Apps (iOS & Android)
- Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android)
- Search for "Careful Online"
- Download and install the app
- Open the app and log in with your credentials
App Benefits:
- Push notifications for handovers, referrals, and chat messages
- Optimized mobile interface
- Works offline for viewing cached data

Tips
- Use the app for notifications: Mobile push notifications ensure you never miss urgent handovers or referrals, even when CAREFUL isn't open
- Landscape mode on tablets: Rotating your tablet to landscape orientation provides more screen space and shows more table columns
- Desktop for admin tasks: If you need to manage organizational fields or statuses, use a desktop browser as these features aren't available on mobile
- Sync across devices: Your CAREFUL data is synchronized in real-time, so you can start a task on desktop and complete it on mobile seamlessly
