Reset Your Password

Introduction

If you've forgotten your password, CAREFUL allows you to reset it using your registered email address or mobile number. You'll receive a secure link to create a new password and regain access to your account.

Before You Start
  • You must have a registered email address or mobile number associated with your CAREFUL account
  • You'll need access to your email inbox or mobile device to receive the reset link
  • The password reset link expires after 15 minutes for security
  • No special permissions required – this feature is available to all users
Steps
  1. Navigate to the CAREFUL login page at /auth/login

  2. Below the password field, click the "Forgotten your password?" link

  3. On the Forgot Password page, enter either your email address or mobile number (the system automatically detects which format you've entered)

  4. Complete the ReCAPTCHA verification by ticking the "I'm not a robot" checkbox

  5. Click the "Reset Password" button

  6. You'll see a confirmation message: "Request received - You should receive an Email/SMS shortly"

  7. Check your email inbox or mobile for a message from CAREFUL containing your password reset link (this may take a few minutes)

  8. Click the password reset link in the email or SMS – this will open your browser to the password reset page

  9. Enter your new password in the "Password" field (must be at least 10 characters long)

  10. Re-enter the same password in the "Confirm password" field to verify it

  11. Ensure the passwords match – if they don't match, you'll see a red error message: "Passwords must match" and the submit button will be disabled

  12. Once both passwords match and meet the 10-character requirement, click the "Reset password" button

  13. Your password is now updated and you'll be automatically logged in and redirected to the CAREFUL home page

Tips
  • Act quickly – the password reset link expires after 15 minutes. If it expires, you'll need to request a new one by starting the process again
  • Check your spam folder – if you don't receive the reset email within a few minutes, check your junk or spam folder
  • Choose a strong password – whilst the minimum is 10 characters, consider using a longer password with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols for better security
  • Password confirmation must match exactly – the submit button remains disabled until both password fields are identical
  • One-time use only – each reset link can only be used once. After successfully resetting your password, the link becomes invalid
  • You're logged in immediately – after successfully resetting your password, you don't need to return to the login page – you'll be automatically signed in
