Forgot Password

Introduction

If you've forgotten your password, you can request a password reset link via email or SMS. This feature allows you to regain access to your CAREFUL account without needing to contact an administrator.

Before You Start
  • You must have a registered email address or mobile number associated with your CAREFUL account
  • You need access to your registered email inbox or mobile phone to receive the reset link
  • No special permissions required -- this feature is available to all users from the login screen
Steps
Requesting a Password Reset
  1. On the login screen, click the "Forgotten your password?" link below the sign-in button
  2. You'll be directed to the Forgotten Password page
  3. In the "Email / Mobile number" field, enter either:
    • Your registered email address, or
    • Your registered mobile number (the country code selector will appear automatically for phone numbers)
  4. Click the "Send reset link" button
  5. A confirmation screen appears with the message "Request received"
  6. You'll see: "You should receive an Email shortly" (or "You should receive an SMS shortly" if you entered a mobile number)
  7. Click "Return to login screen" to go back to the login page
Resetting Your Password
  1. Check your email inbox or mobile phone for the reset link (it should arrive within a few minutes)
  2. Click the reset link in the email or SMS message
  3. You'll be directed to the Reset Password page
  4. Enter your new password in the "Password" field (minimum 10 characters)
  5. Re-enter the same password in the "Confirm password" field to verify
  6. Click the "Reset password" button
  7. If successful, you'll be automatically logged in and redirected to your CAREFUL home page -- no need to manually log in again
Tips
  • Reset links expire after 15 minutes -- if your link has expired, you'll need to request a new one by repeating the process from step 1
  • Each reset link can only be used once -- if you've already used a link to reset your password, you'll need to request a new link if you want to change it again
  • Password requirements: Your new password must be at least 10 characters long. Choose a strong, unique password that you haven't used elsewhere
  • Both email and phone work: You can use either your registered email address or mobile number to receive the reset link -- whichever is more convenient
  • No match found? If you receive an error saying your email or mobile number isn't recognised, double-check you're using the correct contact details registered with your CAREFUL account, or contact your organisation's administrator for assistance
  • Network issues: If you see the message "Network unstable. Recaptcha failed to load. Please refresh this page", simply refresh your browser and try again
